About police and fire departments collecting funds

Police and Fire departments Have become institutions which serves its members only, many times at the cost of benefit to the neediest among us .This includes activities for the benefit of slain or the members who died in line of duty. For the public officials we normally provide very liberal benefits ,while dependents of slain soldiers get much less.Ordinary citizens only get SSDI(social security disability benefits)To which they contribute .

Under new rules for police and fire departments which are semi military organisations should not be allowed to solicit resources and funds from public for their benefit.They may form organisations for mutual benefit .

Fire Departments should be nurtured as learning and teaching institutions with public service in mind.Staff should be multitasking and all down times should be utilised for the benefit of society.
