Internally displaced people of swat .These are the people who have moved out of the valley to get out of the way of Pakistan Army operations against Taliban.
Fun part is all these are fungible numbers of Pakistan government.They are good at manipulating figures and such for short term gain. More the refugees more the funding more settling back again more funding.
It reminds me of a story in panjab where a political hack as a favor was given contract to paint a bridge number12395. He got paid and problem was he could not find the actual bridge.So this gentleman checked the record and found that certain Mr singh had built the bridge in previous administration so he went to see him and approached sir could you tell where that bridge is located .Mr singh said in dismay in total disgust that this guy was totally useless as a contractor as his people had no problem in getting that bridge built and several times repaired and this new guy could not even get it painted. we all know there was no bridge 12395 and it was built on paper ,repaired and with the guidance from original builder now got painted in national colors.
I wonder is this activity in swat more like the bridge number12395 of my story.
No need to move people to camps and then move back to SWAT when you can do all the activiies sitting in office.
I am afraid this is not just a story but reality in frontier region . May God protect us.We should not fund any activities without being able to operate and inspect actual activities.It is the resposibility of host country to provide that much.
