Foam glider which can touch down on a perch like bird.

researchers have developed a control system which allows a foam glider to touch down like a bird does on wire.One does not think complexities of perching .This article made me aware of the thermodynamics of flying the plane and bird flight.Flaps on the plane wings allow it to smooth land on runway at high speed and brakes bring the planes to stationary situations.Planes flaps are changed by only few degrees to maintain the stability.In case of perching the birds move their wings at a great angle between 60 to ninety degree to stop in the air in zero distance.Some times they seem to stop in air and then just sit down.Grippers(talons) on their feet probably help them from falling.
