IN MY INDIA.land price inflation in Chandigarh

Reading The Tribune, premium English language newspaper of Panjab i became aware that the residential plots in Chandigarh, a modern city are going for $2300 oer square yard .A Residential plot of 4000 square feet will cost One mIllion US dollars.Vow is it Japan of nineties. I remember Australia had sold its embassy for 300 million dollars .It was rumored that the land under the royal palace of king of Japan was worth more than the Island of Manhattan.

This price is not location specific.No unique location or amenities .I wonder what is happening to India.This is not Mumbai or even Bangalore.I feel very alien to these prices .America's price bubble in real estate is fresh in the memory.Is the high population density of India cause for this land price inflation.Besides, this is happening while the deflation is taking place all over the world in real estate as well as GDP.

Oh my India,boy is killed for marying a girl with the same last name

India still has many chains of its old traditional society.In old times their were rules where one could not marry in the same village and normally had to marry 3 or 4 villages away and the boy and girls either parent can not have common last name( gotra rough translation,gotra normally established lineage).GENETICISTS HAVE FOUND THAT such Prohibitions were good for the well being of the next generations.Then there were restrictions that one has to Mary in larger caste definition that is more like a class.

Today these rules are not adhered strictly.Most of the marriages are arranged by parents consulting horoscopes,stars and other items of value plays important role ,plus other than financial well being and good health and character of the couple and their families standing in the society.Foreign trained and graduates from elite schools are much sought after mates.

This tragic case from Haryana came to light.It is a quite forward state in north west India near the capital where a boy and girl from the same gotra from different village got married against there parents wishes as they had the same GOTRA. Their clan committee(Panchayat)similar to village council sentenced them both to be killed as people from same gotra are supposed to be brothers and sisters.Relationship of this type would be considered equal to incest in this society as well many Hindu traditional societies.

When girl did not return from her village groom moved the courts and took help of police officials to recover her from her parents home .The village she belonged to attacked the police party and killed the Groom and injured many police.

It is shame that no common sense could prevail in year 2009.Now the people from boys village want the girl to die also as a revenge for this .I will never understand that sort of justice where innocent can be made to pay for the criminals.

It is clearly murder of an innocent man and guilty should be punished.Sad part is many innocent have been brainwashed to think that it is honorable to kill and die for such reasons.

SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE IS PARAMOUNT IN ALL HUMAN ENDEAVOURS.MOST HINDUS DO NOT EVEN KILL ANIMALS FOR FOOD.
