a wonderful observation

Mark, with all due respect - let me make an analogy:> To see a Broadway play - a ticket is about $100.> To see a first-run movie - a ticket is about $10.> To wait for the movie on DVD - and watch as many times as I want, and lend it to my friends - it costs about $20.> To wait and rent the movie - it costs about $2.The content is the same. Only the business model and the location of the seat are different. So it would be with seats in college classes - if left to the free market.Likewise, textbooks would be on-line and free, rather than costing about $100 each - with meaningless version updates to drive new students to buy new, rather than used, texts. In the best of times, education was a racket - and these are not the best of times. With all due respect, your six points address almost none of this.
