India and its defense expenses

  • In the after math of 11/26 attack in Mumbai.India has started to build its military and intelligence apparatus.May be these are the facts of life in 2009.India ,Pakistan and all the poorer nations can ill afford these expenses. We can not surrender the security of the masses also. It is a very difficult challenge which the world has to meet.India has started to spend multi billion dollars every year on weapons ,technology and manpower. It can not afford to do so.It is very imperative that world help poorer nations to have peace in the neighborhood and do not go into fast acceleration defense spending and loose the opportunities in education, infrastructure development and health.
Democracy of India can learn from China how to deliver services to its people and create consensus for human development.China can learn from India how to let diversity flourish and let the spirit of people govern its soul.
India has not made any claims on Chinese territory while it could have with long established relations in Tibet with India.China has continuously harassed India by making claims on its territory and by supporting enemies of India inside and outside its territory. Ball is in China's court. If China reduced tensions with India, by stopping claims on its territory and stopping supporting enemies of India. A new day of cooperation and peace can rule all of Asia.I do not understand why China has maintained tense relations with all its trading partners including USA,Japan,India and others.World will be better place if a concentrated effort was made to reduce tensions between nations and development became priority of the world.
It is hoped that we may become truly enlightened society where we would have to work only 30 hours to make a nice sustainable living.Currently it is not possible as we spend more than 15 hours to pay for the governments we have.Lot of this money is spent on law enforcement and defense. It has neither given us security or peace of mind.
