Pakistans lawless police

Tragedy of Pakistan is that it's police has become like the Taliban. According to reports in the media more than 650 people are reported missing in the country.Most of these missing people are picked up by police or intelligence agencies of the country without recourse or information . These agencies hold these people and torture them sometimes release them for ransom( as it is not always clear who are the abductors).

Taliban abduct people including officials and police for ransom and exchange of prisoners and at times to terrorise the public.As many important political abducts have died or are killed in police custody and their bodies are dumped .In the process respect for the law has vanished in many parts of society who are on the fringes to begin with.

It is important that uniform police procedure be implemented and when government and its agencies arrest people (it should be with knowledge of courts)they should not be allowed to kidnap or abduct people .
Un identified Police acting like Goons has no place in society, which want to be representative of the citizens.By acting professionally and in public interest police forces can garner the support of the ordinary citizens which is essential for law and order.

IT IS ALWAYS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE CIVILIAN CONTROL OF THE UNIFORMED FORCES.
