Supreme court of India rules against abortion of a child conceived by a retarded woman rape victim.

It is quite interesting how supreme court of India intervened and voted against abortion of the foetus of a retarded autistic woman conceived as a result of rape.Several organizations had offered to take care of woman and the baby.All tests have proven that the baby was healthy and victim was physically fit to deliver the baby. Justices stated that they were armatures in nature and felt that nature will protect the foetus .Woman is 19 weeks pregnant. Her disability and capacity not to be able to raise the baby was found not enough reason for abortion.

Many lawyers from assorted groups participated in the proceedings and many medical specialists gave reports to inform the court.

I wonder if India is becoming Like US.I hope this litigation does not become norm in India.We cannot afford it in US and India can afford it even lesser.Inability to afford legal process should not be a reason for tolerating injustice.

I guess all societies have to litigate this type of cases to get clear direction.
