Story in "THE HINDU"
Ajmal being tried for Mumbai terror attack is getting humanised even in prison.It is a story worthy of mention .Having seen Rakhi on many people in prison he wondered if some body will tie a Rakhi on him .When he learned that Rakhi was tied by sisters or girls who consider a male as brother .This is a bond between sisters and brothers where sisters ask god for protection and success for brothers and they promise to protect and wish success in return and give gift of money and sweets.
Ajmal is being exposed to Indian culture though not much different than Pakistan yet very different in nuances.Tradition of Rakhi did not survive in Pakistan.
We all wish him a fair trial .I am against the death penalty ,i would be happy if India eliminated death penalty and he was spared.
Most people do not believe that people like him can be rehabbed .Then again how you forgive such brutality and callous behaviour.He is new fangled criminal trained as a machine to kill on command.He does not even understand life issues .Was sold as Jihadi to help his family.
He might have been even a willing partner in the scheme of things.How many times poor children sacrifice their lives for the benefit of siblingsin that part of the world.I have seen chioldren years on having worked and send every penny to parents for the benefit of siblings.
His handlers ,people of without soul yet of more understanding are responsible for actions of this kid.These cowards use poor souls as fodder to their perverted designs.They marry young girls and build networks of hatred by sacrificing innocent poor souls.
HIS DESIRE FOR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE OF A SISTER IN INDIA SHOW GIVEN THE OPPURTUNITY EVEN MOST BRAINWASHED CRUELEST OF KILLERS CAN BECOME A LITTLE MORE HUMAN.
I am glad Prisons in India have not dehumanised him .
