India has started the number portability for cell phones and it is a tech day.For only 19 Rs( about 40 cents)
System is efficient and simple.You send and SMS to a given number and it sends a portability code.With this code you can port the number to any provider of your choice.It takes all control away from the providers and customer is locked in only for ninety days.
I can assure you if India Telecoms came to America it would eat lunch of Verizon and its all the cohorts.
