AMA opposes part of Obama health plan

AMA in its knee jerk reaction to a federal health plan component of the Obama plan is planning to come against this option.

AMA know's it that most expensive parts of our health care has been nationalised for long time under the guise of medical care for elderly,sick,handicapped ,children and very poor.It is only the care of healthy which are insured by the private insurance companies .Where they skim the cream and make the profit in the process some times for the benefit of the administrators and doctors who serve on the boards.

We nation as a whole spend more than 10 percent of our GDP on health care with a dubious results of health for our citizens.Ours is the only country where people file for bankruptcy for inability to pay the medical bills .By improving the cost and distribution of health care we can provide a secure health care to all citizens and make our industry competitive in the world market.Today countries with higher wages can compete with us because of the advantage they have in health care costs.Employee mobility is decreasing in America in comparison to our competition.

We have competition in all fields of endeavor accept medicine.In low end of medicine legal and illegal immigrants are fulfilling the service jobs and are also filling more of the LPN as well as RN jobs.

Medical profession has kept the supply of doctors limited (BY not adding seats in medical schools)Making it more difficult for experienced doctors from other countries to get American licenses to practice here.It is time that better hierarchy be created in medical profession.Rather than having all doctors equal , we need to create additional categories of doctors to provide better service to the patients. Having more doctors graduate will also help the nation provide better health care by providing more choice and availability.

I would say many doctors care very much to provide best health care to all and they will not sign on AMA views.AMA would serve the nation well if a question was framed in a correct way to take care of the opinion of members while lobbying the government.
It is about time importance of money be reduced in practise of medicine in America.
