Results of presidential election in Iran are out . According to official results Ahmednijad won.But opposition was very vocal and energised .It is a good sign for Iran.
Obama's greetings to Iran for new year was a very nice gesture.It is hard to be mad if someone wishes you well in the new year.Ahmednijad's rhetoric against America and anti Israel makes him appear like a cartoon character. This has given the moderates and progressives who want to move the country forward a boost and helped broaden the discourse in Iran.All the world rejoices in this change.It was quite heart warming to see all these seemingly bright young men and women in green participating in the political process of Iran.
Iran ,in spite of theocratic rule of 30 years has allowed its women to be educated.Currently 60 percent of the students in university are women.
I sincerely hope Iran Will go back to its roots of multiculturalism and pluralism and acceptance.
Though there has not been change in leadership of Iran but changes taking place in society will benefit all.
