A Gandhian of American descent commits suicide, failing to get Indian citizenship !

John James Knaeebel 71 years old American committed suicide by self immolation.He had lived in India for 15 years .He was Vietnam war veteran.

He left behind a brief suicide note, blaming the US and Indian governments.He had moved to India in 1995 and when his visa expired he burnt his documents in Raj Ghat and asked for political asylum in India.Which he was denied .He was very distraught and committed suicide by self immolation. He blamed US and Indian governments for it.

He was a California native.He is survived by a son and a daughter in USA and hundreds of friends and well wishers in Jaipur.
