Pope has shown his solidarity with Asia Bibi and has asked Pakistani authorities to save her Life.
This is a sad story a poor christian village women was charged with blasphemy in Pakistan.Whole thing started very innocently when one of her bosses asked her to fetch water some other laborers complained that she could not touch water bowl for the fear of polluting it as she was not Muslim .When she obeyed her boss, a complain was filed against her for blasphemy and she was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging.
Pakistan an ally has draconian laws in religiosity many people have been killed for blasphemy .Even Muslims who are Shia or Ahmadi have been victims of these laws.It is about time that Pakistan provide religious freedom to its citizens and protection to minority religions.More places of worship ,places of reverence for centuries have been destroyed in Pakistan than in any country including China.( at least in recent years).
Christians and Hindus many times are the one's who at the time of partition (1947) were too poor and had no hope to improve their lot and believed that they would be able to maintain their live in the place they were and stayed in the places .After independence in Pakistan they have suffered and no opportunities have been provided to eliminate their poverty.
Blasphemy laws and laws that declared Ahmadi Muslims as non Muslims have played havoc with these lives.Many of the Ahmadi's had actually moved from India at the time of partition and their leader had helped finance Mohd Jinnah trip back from England.
Last year Ahmadi Mosques(they can not call them mosques anymore,they have to call them prayer houses)was attacked in Lahore and eighty worshippers died and nobody had been prosecuted for that so far.The plight of Ahmadi,s is truly deplorable.

Pakistan,supreme court,constitution law and life.Dawn news
Constitution tossed on the floor of the supreme court of Pakistan.
During today’s proceeding, one of the petitioners, Shahid Orakzai, argued against the establishment of the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Petitioner made a point that as Islamabad was not a state it can not have its own high court.He further stated that appointment of supreme court justices was also not constitutional .To show his disdain for the constitution He further said he would prefer the Holy Quran over the country’s constitution if he had to make a choice between the two. He then tossed a copy of the Constitution to the floor.
THis is the position of the constitution which the Judges of the supreme court are supposed to uphold.
few months back 90 members of the Ahmadi sect were killed by some fanatics for belonging to that faith.This cold blooded murder had very little protest in the public.Not long ago Saying of Quran were chiseled from the house of worship of Ahmadi's.they can not by law call them Masjid,they can only be called meeting halls.
Pakistan is in tough shape.No law and order .Minorities have no rights just yesterday two Christians were killed by a gunman in police custody while being prepared to be presented in court on trumped up charges of Blasphemy which is punishable by death in Pakistan.No body has been punished in Pakistan on blasphemy charges.Hundreds have died in police custody or have been killed by fanatics on blasphemy rumors.State has failed to protect Christians,Sikhs,Hindus and Ahmadi's a sect of Muslims not recognised in Pakistan as muslim.
It is sad the only Nobel laureate of Pakistan was an ahmadi.After ahmadi's were declared non Muslims by state he had left Pakistan .On his death his body was buried in Pakistan and on his grave it was inscribed that he was the first Muslim Nobel Laureate ,and somebody with the sanctions of state had Muslim scrubbed from his grave stone .
If you are looking for Islam as the religion of tolerance and peace it is very very hard to find such Islam in Islamic Republic of Pakistan(land of the pure).

Ahmadiyya mosques attacked by terrorists in name of Islam
Pakistan has a sad history.Only Pakistani to win Nobel prize was an Ahmadi named DR.Abdus Salam .Here is a short excerpt from Wikipedia.
"Abdus Salam was a devout Muslim, and a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community[9], who saw his religion as integral to his scientific work. He once wrote: "The Holy Quran enjoins us to reflect on the verities of Allah's created laws of nature; however, that our generation has been privileged to glimpse a part of His design is a bounty and a grace for which I render thanks with a humble heart."[5]
During his acceptance speech for the Nobel Prize in Physics, Salam quoted the following verses from the Quran:
“ Thou seest not, in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection, Return thy gaze, seest thou any fissure. Then Return thy gaze, again and again. Thy gaze, Comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. ”
He then said:
“ This, in effect, is the faith of all physicists; the deeper we seek, the more is our wonder excited, the more is the dazzlement for our gaze.[10] ”
In 1974, when the Parliament of Pakistan declared Ahmadis to be non-Muslims, he left Pakistan for London in protest.
Ahmadi web site also talks about its founder Mirza Gulam Ahmad from Kadian. It states
He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings. He also recognized the noble teachings of the great religious founders and saints, including Zoroasteras, Abrahamas, Mosesas, Jesusas, Krishnaas, Buddhaas, Confuciusas, Lao Tzu and Guru Nanak, and explained how such teachings converged into the one true Islam.
It is sad to mention that When Pakistan Declared that Ahmadiyya non muslim by constitution in Pakistan ,Mr Abdus Salam left Pakistan in protest.He never returned.
After his death his body was returned to Pakistan and was interned in a grave next to his parents.
The inscription read "First Muslim Nobel Laureate".
The parties which may be very powerful could not accept this and by court order had the words Muslim erased.Such is the state of affairs in Pakistan.
It is routine to see policemen chiseling away sayings of Quran from Musjids of Ahmadis.They do not realize that they are destroying words in praise of Allah for the arrogance.
I AM AFRAID IN PRESENT ENVIRONMENT IN PAKISTAN HOPE OF A PEACEFUL MULTIFAITH MODERN SOCIETY IS DIMINISHED BY THIS TRAGEDY.
