Here is an unusual blog about convention of victims of love.
Convention of those wounded in love
Published on December 13, 2009 in News. 113 Comments
promulgated by Paulo Coelho in 2008 and dedicated today to Elin Woods
General provisions:
A – Whereas the saying “all is fair in love and war” is absolutely correct;
B – Whereas for war we have the Geneva Convention, approved on 22 August 1864, which provides for those wounded in the battle field, but until now no convention has been signed concerning those wounded in love, who are far greater in number;
It is hereby decreed that:
Article 1 – All lovers, of any sex, are alerted that love, besides being a blessing, is also something extremely dangerous, unpredictable and capable of causing serious damage. Consequently, anyone planning to love should be aware that they are exposing their body and soul to various types of wounds, and that they shall not be able to blame their partner at any moment, since the risk is the same for both.
Article 2 – Once struck by a stray arrow fired from Cupid’s bow, they should immediately ask the archer to shoot the same arrow in the opposite direction, so as not to be afflicted by the wound known as “unrequited love”. Should Cupid refuse to perform such a gesture, the Convention now being promulgated demands that the wounded partner remove the arrow from his/her heart and throw it in the garbage. In order to guarantee this, those concerned should avoid telephone calls, messages over the Internet, sending flowers that are always returned, or each and every means of seduction, since these may yield results in the short run but always end up wrong after a while. The Convention decrees that the wounded person should immediately seek the company of other people and try to control the obsessive thought: “this person is worth fighting for”.
Article 3 – If the wound is caused by third parties, in other words if the loved one has become interested in someone not in the script previously drafted, vengeance is expressly forbidden. In this case, it is allowed to use tears until the eyes dry up, to punch walls or pillows, to insult the ex-partner in conversations with friends, to allege his/her complete lack of taste, but without offending their honor. The Convention determines that the rule contained in Article 2 be applied: seek the company of other persons, preferably in places different from those frequented by the other party.
Article 4 – In the case of light wounds, herein classified as small treacheries, fulminating passions that are short-lived, passing sexual disinterest, the medicine called Pardon should be applied generously and quickly. Once this medicine has been applied, one should never reconsider one’s decision, not even once, and the theme must be completely forgotten and never used as an argument in a fight or in a moment of hatred.
Article 5 – In all definitive wounds, also known as “breaking up”, the only medicine capable of having an effect is called Time. It is no use seeking consolation from fortune-tellers (who always say that the lost lover will return), romantic books (which always have a happy ending), soap-operas on the television or other such things. One should suffer intensely, completely avoiding drugs, tranquilizers and praying to saints. Alcohol is only tolerated if kept to a maximum of two glasses of wine a day.
Final determination:
Those wounded in love, unlike those wounded in armed conflict, are neither victims nor torturers. They chose something that is part of life, and so they have to accept both the agony and the ecstasy of their choice.
And those who have never been wounded in love will never be able to say: “I have lived”. Because they haven’t.

Gita Pullapilly and Aaron Gaudet nice Vows Preview,NYT
Gita Pullapilly and Aron Gaudet ,
This is an interesting story of a marriage of two souls of different backgrounds. Quite heart warming .One part stands out in a toast by Aaron Gaudet is the conversation with VP Joe Biden. After meeting the couple before their marriage Biiden related that how a man had shook his hand and looked up at them, looked at Mrs. Biden and said ‘You really married up.’ Without missing a beat, Mr. Biden looked at Gita, then looked at me, grinned and said, ‘You’re about to marry up.
Aaron Gaudet gave a greatest complement to his wife and her family using Mr Bidens words. Love can make us all equal and sometimes even more equal.

Jhumpa Lehri tells the follies and inner thoughts of us and in the process make us more human.
Now i have read three of her stories from her book unaccustomed earth. She seems to be putting a light on the life and struggles of immigrant Indians and their children in America. It might be even a cathartic exercise for her.Her first person narration puts the reader in the middle of the story and let us all take roles which suites us. We may not take any roles if we choose not to we are only readers without any responsibility or traces of readership.
There is a need for honest narration for all the societies .We all have common stories .Indians have stories of elitism for the learning and the place in society they have brought with them. The power to be able to write in English has also helped them. The Genre Jhumpa has chosen real life fiction (i am not sure what she calls it)is a great way to reflect on our life in America.
In HELL-HEAVEN she tells the story of a young MIT student breaking ties with tradition and marrying the woman he loves and then against all the norms of India he breaks another norm and becomes more contemporary American by divorcing his American wife(who was charmed by Indian Culture and may be family ties which he had broken to marry her)by falling in love with a married Bengali woman and destroying two marriages in the process.
It is story of double jeopardy.Honesty is quite charming. That also in first person writing. It is beautiful genre. We can be villains, hero's ,ordinary crooks, youthful lovers and deceivers and charlatans.Writer is all powerful .
This is the story of first generation Indians who came to america in 70's and have become latest group of proud american and are changing themselves and their children are becoming part of this experiment we all lovingly called AMERICA.

How cliquish we can get
Just last week Thomas, my friend told me the story about his Italian grand mother. That lovely old lady loved all the children. She spoke some English and loved conversing in Italian. One wish she had ,that all her relatives married an Italian.
So while growing up Thomas used to tease her that he was dating a french girl, she would make some derogatory remarks about that and plead and cajole him to go out with some nice Italian Girl.Other time he would make up stories(i think he made this up for me) that he was dating a Jewish Girl. That made his staunch Catholic(church going) grand mother upset.
One day he met a very nice Italian girl and was excited and went and told her that he is going out with this gorgeous Italian girl .He was hoping she would be excited and happy. No! grandma asked where is she from in Italy. He said Cicily.Grand ma was very disappointed and did not approve as the people of that region were meanest in the world. She was more mad than when he told her he was going out with french or Jewish girls.
What is the moral of the story.
Grand ma did not get over her childhood impressions.
We always want to deal with people whose history we know.
Thanks to America we have so many nationalities in our small town.
I am glad Thomas is my friend.(I have to be nice to him he brings lot of clothes for cleaning to the store i work at).

Educating the youth about matters of love
In Haryana state several honor killings have happened in last year. What is called honor killing is actually a misnomer. Most of the time a young boy and a girl fall in love ,either elope or get married or plan to get married without parents permission or against their wishes.
Parents out of frustration or unreasonable sense of propriety feel how dare their children do it and make them miserable to the extent where they commit suicide or become victim of overzealous family friends desperation and are killed. We know how it is happening ,why now? It may be media and filmy world has made youth insensitive to consequences of love and are charmed by its sensuous representation.Mostly the girl in love are no more than 18 years old.
There is need for open and honest discussion about love ,free love, movie love for the benefit of youth as well as their parents. We can not afford to let so many young lives be wasted on the misguided notions of love and honour.
A COURSE TO EDUCATE ALL ABOUT LOVE IS NEEDED AND NEEDED QUICKLY.

I admire and salute people who adopt children with great handicaps
I admire people who have capacity to give great love.I am talking about those souls who knowingly adopt children with complex health problems and some of them terminally ill . Children with aids and other life threatening as well life restricting ailments are loved and welcomed by these souls even an atheist can believe in charity and love of these god incarnates.
We all are willing to do anything for our children i guess that is the bond of filial love.Love for a total stranger child in far away land is simply Divine.
I have hope for this world and that hope is strengthened when ever i read story of such love .I Just read the story of adoptive mom of a Chinese boy with severe Scoliosis in head brace in comment to one of such adoption blogs axisofbeebles.blogspot.com .Shared with NYT readers.
HATS OFF TO YOU ALL.
