Congratulations to Mamata Ji.Your fearlessness  has shown how this middle aged woman could make a difference in the lives of terrorist prone state like Bengal.She is new hope for terrorism wrecked states of norh east India.She may be  the  new face of nation building even when foreign  supported terorists are bent on playing havock with peoples lives.

Many time undeserving people have gotten not just tourist visa for USA but have even gotten immigration.Denying a tourist Visa to a leader of national status on some flimsy grounds does disservice to our American value of Fair Play.I have read at times members of terrorist sympathising organizations have gotten visa to USA and they have collected funds in USA to do us harm.

In Mr Modi's case State department could have kept eye on his activity and would have understood who are his sympathisers and recieved a better insight into the political mind of this leader .I think they have only annoyed him and his sympathisers in the process.With a large number of Gujrati's in USA it is important that state department be aware of the political dynamics of the community.Wiki leaks cables confirm the view that he is a man of high moral character and state department should not listen to some left wing ( may be of congress party) adviser about the alleged character of leaders .If we do so we not only hurt the good peole but we hurt our own interest as it gets hijacked by these villans.It would be prudent if state department developed variety of sources with broader understading of the host countries.

Special train to cover Buddhist circuit

NEW DELHI: The Railways will launch a special train covering the Buddhist circuit across the country, with a visit to Nepal also thrown in, from Chennai on February 22.

Aiming to cater for budget tourists from Sri Lanka and other Asian countries, the 14 day and 13-night, all-paid package tour will also provide hotel accommodation, vegetarian meals, road transfers for sight seeing, and visa assistance. It will be a round trip commencing from and ending at Chennai, obviously targeting Buddhist pilgrims from Sri Lanka. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation(IRCTC) has offered three kinds of rates for the budget tourist.

Twin sharing accommodation comes for Rs. 23,650($ 493) per person and triple-sharing accommodation for Rs. 20,600($ 429). For hall or dormitory accommodation, the fare has been pegged at Rs. 16,650. Accommodation will be provided in budget hotels.

The exclusive train, with a pantry car serving wholesome vegetarian food, provides sleeper class accommodation for 500 passengers on each trip. Escort and security on the train will be provided, assures the IRCTC.

The pilgrims get to see 11 sites starting with Buddhist paintings and sculptures in the Ajantha and Ellora Caves; the massive Stupa at Sanchi; Sravasti, capital of the ancient kingdom of the same name; the birthplace of Gautam Buddha at Lumbini in Nepal; the Mahaparinirvana Temple in Kushinagar, Vaishali, where the Buddha preached his last sermon; the evocative ruins of Buddhist monasteries and temples of Nalanda; Rajgir where Buddha preached two of his most famous sermons; Bodh Gaya where the Buddha attained enlightenment; Sarnath where he preached his last sermon, and the excavations of Nagarjunakonda.

The package does not include the entrance fee for monuments, medical care and Nepal visa fee for foreigners. A passenger will forfeit the entire money if he fails to cancel his trip at least one week prior to the scheduled date of departure.

I just read a story in Hindu.

In the last years of terrorists attacks in Mumbai 166 people died .Government of India helped most of the people who died and the one's injured by cash awards and other benefits.

One of the benefits awarded for the survivors or others willing to help them was to provide government employment to them.Many of the people got Jobs in railway giving the families a way of sustained income to these families .I think it is uniquely Indian solution and well suited to the place.This also reminds us all that how important it is to provide jobs to needy .

All leaders should think and provide means to help people out of jobs and find ways to create income for them.Best gift for anybody is a job which pays enough and utilises one's talents.
