American Dorms and lack of refrigerators,students

Any parent knows what a nuisance it is for the students to lug their bedding ,sheets pillows, lamps ,printers and small fridges and microwaves for attending these expensive schools(party Central).After having done for my two daughters at least four times a year.I HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS.

It is about time that these dormitories came furnished with basic accessories and appliances .Cost for all those items would be no more than 120 dollars per year. Savings in aggravation alone would offset this cost.Any additional savings could be passed on to university. It would be like Standard student issue materials(same as grunts in military.

IN addition all students should be provided with water thermoses.Convenient Purified Tap water filling stations be provided in each dorm and all around the campus.

High honors for Jaipur foot

Dawn has a story again about Jaipur foot a prosthetic device developed in Jaipur which costs only 40 t0 70 dollars to make and is made in a day of locally available materials.
The story tells how this Jain institute provides these prosthetics free of charge to anybody who needs them.

I really admire how Dawn is publishing stories of human service.
My hats Off to dawn and The Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti organisation for such an outstanding mostly needed service.

Are you willing to stand and watch our nation stand still and our coming generations get behind and work for kids from other nations or them to to be leaders of the bright new world we are about to open up
come join me in this journey where we put our education and our nation on the path of leadership.
Warren Buffet while talking at Yale with bill gates said that the students will earn at least million dollars in their life time.He added a caveat if they learned to communicate well they can earn at least another half a million dollars.
I envision and want you to help me increase the earnings of our youth in near future.
I have simple plan ,need your help and we need to test it and then let it loose on the world stage.
My idea is simple we will provide netbooks to middle schools they will be loaded with windows and ubantu and public domain software's
we will teach them
How to back up data .print,save on thumb drive.make video, blog.you tube in the first year of school also we will teach them how to use writing software.
we can do this now as we have some advantage over many other poorer nations .if successful they all will follow us and world will be better connected place.

Demystifyng India lecture by Gururaj Deshpande

Today there is lecture part of demystifyng India Honors colloquium At URI. Speaker is Gururaj Deshpande an entrepreneur and scientist, who founded Sycamore networks. He was considered to be the richest Indian in America for the valuation of his shares at one time to be around 3 billion dollars.

He has helped to start an entrepreneur center at MIT .His many ventures show that he is entrepreneur to the core.It is rumored that his next venture is better battery.

Questions for him

How URI can be helpful in the community entrepreneurship and its desire to be part of thinking and doing big things.

Why the events at MIT entrepreneur center are not open to public and web cast.

What are the fields he thinks will have or are in need of greatest innovation.In sciences or society.
